Understanding and managing Anxiety
Anxiety can feel like someone has hit a beehive inside you with a big stick.
Your body can feel full of agitated bees. Anxiety can make it hard to focus, to be here and to be now.
Here is an exercise to help you to be in the here and now.
It is called the 54321 game.
Look around you and name 5 things you can see.
Now listen for 4 things you can hear and name them as they come into your attention.
And feel around for 3 things you can touch, touch them and name them.
And smell for 2 things you can smell, name them.
And notice inside your mouth for 1 thing you can taste.
You have used ALL of your 5 senses to be here and now.
Notice how you feel as you land here and now.
