Intro to Mammals
This learning block represents one week’s work. Aim to watch at least one video and choose at least one activity or project to complete.
Here are two videos to choose from about plants. The first one is better for younger kids, the others will appeal to older kids. Feel free to watch one, or both!
This is a 45 minute documentary on mammals that might be a lot of fun to watch with the whole family for family movie night!
The sound isn’t the greatest… so you might want to stream on your TV where you can make it louder, or listen with earphones if you’re using a tablet or laptop!

- Pens, pencils, markers, or crayons
- Glue or tape
Next: choose a mammal, any mammal, and make a lapbook project.
Here is a list of printable, free lapbook templates to choose from, from Homeschool Share.
There are 350! Not all are animals!
You can search for an animal you like in that list, print it out, and get going.
OR, you can use these templates for lapbooks and create your OWN for any animal.
What should you include?
Lots of facts about your animal like:
- Where they live
- How long they live
- What they eat
- Their characteristics
- What makes them special
Here’s a video of a kid making an Orca lapbook to give you ideas!
